The Seattle Storm announced today the signing of free agent forward Jasmine Walker. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Jasmine brings versatility as a scorer and defender to help provide us with additional depth in our frontcourt,” said Noelle Quinn, Seattle Storm Head Coach. “She has a natural ability to space the floor with her efficient three-point shooting and is a strong rebounder. We are looking forward to having her in Seattle.”

“I want to start by saying thank you to the Seattle Storm for giving me this amazing opportunity,” said Walker. “I’m ready to get to work and add to their winning tradition! To my teammates, I’m more than ready to give you my all to get it done!”

Walker was a first-round pick (7th overall) by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2021 WNBA draft out of Alabama. She appeared in two games before a knee injury ended her rookie season. Walker returned to action in 2022 with LA, playing in 32 games while making one start. She was traded to Connecticut on January 16 as part of a four-player deal, but waived by the Sun on Feb. 20.

After the 2022 WNBA season, Walker played for Morovis of the Puerto Rican BSNF league, averaging 16.0 points and 8.6 rebounds while shooting 42.6% from the field in 14 games. She is also playing with Athletes Unlimited in Dallas where she recorded seven points, six rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist in 23 minutes in the first game of the event on Thursday.

Walker was a standout at Alabama, recording 21 career double-doubles and was a 2021 Katrina McClain Award Finalist awarded to the nation’s top power forward. She averaged 19.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game as a senior while shooting 43.7% from the field, leading the Crimson Tide to the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Walker also holds the school record for single-game scoring, tallying 41 points at Auburn on Feb. 14, 2021.
