The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-101, securing their third season game. LeBron James returned from injury playing 38 minutes and scored 26 points with three rebounds and eight assists.
Anthony Davis finished the game with 15 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while the other member of the big three, Russell Westbrook, finished with 19 points, six points, and five assists.
However, in the middle of the fourth quarter, the Los Angeles native Russell Westbrook broke the Crip walk in the game as he crossed half-court.
On Friday evening, Westbrook recovered in the turnover department, only having four compared to his previous game against Oklahoma City. Westbrook finished that game with a quadruple-double with 20 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, and ten turnovers.
After the game against the Cavaliers, Westbrook was asked about being at home and seeing the streamers come down.
“Everything is strictly a blessing and I don’t take nothing for granted. I give all the thanks to the man above for allowing me to be in this situation. In this arena around so many great people. It was a great win and we took care of home court and I’m happy we won,” said Westbrook.
The Lakers had a lot of turnovers [15] in the first half of the game but were able to turn it around in the second half.
“Getting shot instead of turning the ball over in the first half, they took a lot more shots and a lot more possessions. We know if we put the ball on the scoreboard, they will have a hard time beating us.”
He was also asked about trying to figure out how to play with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
“Just figuring out our spacing and what sets work for us. Figuring out how with each other and are going to get it together is all that matters.”
The Los Angeles Lakers are back in action against the Houston Rockets at the Staples Center at 10:30 pm EST on Sunday.
