The Los Angeles community along with the rest of the world are still reeling from the news that Nipsey Hussle passed away last Sunday, March 31, 2019.  The hip hop icon was gunned down in front of his business Marathon by the alleged suspect Eric Holder.  According to TMZ, Holder was just released from prison after serving a 20-year sentence.  Nipsey was at his store to help his friend look presentable to his friends and family later that day.  Hussle did not inform his security detail that he was heading to the Marathon because he decided to leave the house last minute.

Per TMZ, Nipsey and the alleged suspect  Eric Holder got into a verbal altercation where “We’re told Nipsey asked him if he had snitched to cops in the past because that was the word on the street, and the suspect “felt disrespected.”

What happened after according to multiple reports Nipsey and two other of his associates were shot. Nipsey after being shot twice fell to the ground, then proceeded to raise his head and said something to the tune of, “You shot me, you got me, I’m good.”

The suspect would turn around and fired additional rounds in Nipsey direction that eyewitnesses believed that ended the hip hop icon’s life.

A couple of days after Nipsey was murdered, the police arrested Holder and charged him with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.  His bond was set to 5 million as for the unidentified women, who drove the suspects getaway car she was questioned and released.

LA Police Chief Michael Moore cited social media for contributing to gun violence in Los Angeles. Thirty-six people were shot and ten killed, including Hussle, since last Sunday, March 31st, 2019.

“We see social media driving violence. I’ll just say it,” Moore said. “It allows an attitude of disrespect, and it gets settled on the street. The stuff that is going out is costing people their lives.”

Former Los Angeles Laker Cedric Ceballos, who is a native of Los Angeles recently shared his thoughts on the news of Nipsey’s passing.

” Growing up in LA gang life is just apart of our lives. So, did we think that he was untouchable because he was Nipsey Hussle… No! Did we think it was a tragedy obviously because of what he was progression trying to do in the community of South Central Los Angles.”  But, it is not really just South Central that this is a tragedy to it is something that touches people all over the world. When have the opportunity to help, lift up, or give back you not only have to deal with the ones that love you but also the ones that don’t love you,” Ceballos said.

” You also speak stuff like this into existence, I have never had the opportunity to meet Nipsey and shake his hand. I enjoyed the music, and  I know it is very important to go back, but I feel once he made it, I think the way he spoke should have changed the reason why I say this, prime example the guy probably one of the most successful rappers of all time. Now, I didn’t say the best I said successful is Snoop.  After his murder case, he learned his lesson, and it is okay to represent the hood, but it is not okay to be there 24/7. I understand it was Nipsey’s business, but Snoop doesn’t gang bang on wax anymore.  Nipsey was still participating in the lifestyle, so people believe what he was saying in his music.”

“For years the label parental guidance has been advised on albums in terms of the language in music content.  I think artists should say the same about the stories that they are telling. If he lived that life great, but if you are not in the streets, let people you are not advocating violence. As much as he gave back and tried to uplift our community in South Central Los Angeles, but at the same time people believe in him, and they listen to him.  The situation with him and his partner should have never come out of Nipsey’s month. If what is being reported is true because he was above that. If the guy was a snitch that is something he has to live with Nipsey should not have been the one to say that to him because he has to much power.”

“Words are also powerful calling someone a snitch, but coming from someone like Nipsey, who people look up to, and the person could not take it.  I don’t know the whole story, and I’m only going off of what has been reported, but he didn’t deserve it, and Nipsey did not deserve to go out like that. I see the whole hip hop community talk about we should have learned from this; we should have learned from Biggie and Pac.  I’ll say thi樂威壯
s again you can’t speak it into existence I like his music, but some of the lyrics suggest he is still gang banging… That how we grew up, but once you make it out, you have to know your words are powerful and maybe Nipsey didn’t realize how powerful he was.

“I’ll repeat this I don’t know what happen that day I can only go by what has been reported, and yes he is supposed to be there because that is his business and they should not go back to the hood. Whatever transpired Nipsey should have said man you are right, I heard you got out good luck to you! It is not that important for us to label somebody this and that because they have必利勁
nothing else. Nipsey had the world in front of him, and this individual just got out for supposedly snitching on ours to get out. Living in that world is very low,” Ceballos told me.

As for details on Nipsey Funeral, there have multi reports claiming that Nipsey’s family and officials from the Staple Center have had discussions about using the venue for his funeral. We will have to see what the final decision, but according to Karen Civil, there will not be any tickets being sold to the event.
