Carmelo Anthony Would Be A Great Fit With The Blazers, Says Former Musical Act

It has been six months since Carmelo Anthony last suited up for an NBA team. Anthony played ten games as a member of the Houston Rockets before playing his final game against his former team the Oklahoma City Thunder. Carmelo’s stat line read like this two points, and five rebounds on one percent shooting from the floor.

Both the Rockets and Carmelo decided to part ways after just ten games per ESPN’s Woj.

“After much internal discussion, the Rockets will be parting ways with Carmelo Anthony, and we are working toward a resolution,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said in a statement. “Carmelo had a tremendous approach during his time with the Rockets and accepted every role head coach Mike D’Antoni gave him. The fit we envisioned when Carmelo chose to sign with the Rockets has not materialized; therefore, we thought it was best to move on as any other outcome would have been unfair to him.”

Houston would ship Carmelo to Chicago and the Bulls would later release him, allowing to sign with any franchise of his choosing. There was mutual interest between Anthony and the Los Angeles Lakers due to his friendship with LeBron James. However, when James went down with a groaning injury the possibility of  Carmelo joining the Los Angeles Lakers went down with it.

He was linked to the Warriors and Celtics, but it wasn’t meant to be and he remained a free agent.  Earlier this year Hall of Famer Grant Hill was interviewed by Heavy’s Brandon ’Scoop B’ Robinson and was asked if he saw Carmelo getting picked up this season.

Hill replied, “I don’t think a team will bring him in at this point,” but I think next season a team will possibly bring him in,” said Grant.

Sacramento Kings assistant coach Bobby Jackson and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban echoed Hills take on Anthony not playing this season due him be away from the game this season.

“I think Carmelo’s game still a犀利士
dapts to today’s game, it just has to be the right situation,” Kings Assistant Coach Bobby Jackson told me. With Carmelo situation being that he is 15 or 16 seasons in will he be willing to take a back seat by coming off the bench and being a limited role player in that offense. I think that is the biggest question with Carmelo,” said Jackson.

“This late in the season, unless you are really ready and have a specific need even after All-Star break. There has to be a team that has a need for his specific talent, and he is A Hall of Famer, but like everyone else, it’s gotta be a fit,“ said Cuban.

Recently one of Carmelo Anthony’s former music act by the name of JAG share which NBA team might be a good pick for Carmelo Anthony.

“The Blazers would be the perfect fit for Melo, they have enough scorers right now at the guard position and potential bigs. I like the way Kanter is active in the paint and they have some other youth at the position. Melo would be that vet that could help close everything out, said JAG.“

Back in July of 2017, Per The Oregonian, both C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard spoke about the possibility of adding Carmelo Anthony to their team.

“I spoke to him because obviously, he makes us a better team. So, with that being out there and it being a real opportunity I don’t see why I would reach out to him and let him know it is mutual if he is interested in us, said Lillard”

“He is a very talented player if we get him… When we get him to speak it into existence top three in the west easy. I think he’s interested, ” said C.J. McCollum

Earlier this month, Jag tweeted an image of Melo responding to him stating “If only ppl knew Melo“

Hopefully, Melo will have the opportunity to retire from the NBA on his terms.
