Earlier this year, after spending 20 seasons in a Patriots uniform where he won six Super Bowls in nine attempts, Tom Brady decided to take his talents to Tampa Bay. Brady signed a two-year deal with the Buccaneers worth $60 million with $50 million guaranteed, according to Jacob Camenker of nbcsports.com.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers made it official on March 20, 2020 with the future Hall of Famer sharing that he was excited and hungry for what was to come on his Instagram account.

“Excited, humble and hungry … if there is one thing I have learned about football, it’s that nobody cares what you did last year or the year before that … you earn the trust and respect of those around through your commitment every single day,” wrote Brady on Instagram on Friday. “I’m starting a new football journey and thankful for the @buccaneers for giving me an opportunity to do what I love to do.”

Almost three weeks later, Brady wrote a piece in The Players’ Tribune explaining why he decided to leave New England for Tampa Bay.

“A lot of veteran players were mentors to me during my years as a Patriot. They were there for me when I signed a second contract,” Brady wrote.

“Along with the opportunity to win championships, the support of older teammates is an amazing part of playing for a team. Doing whatever I can to help younger players evolve as people and players matters a lot to me. I’ve learned so much during my 20 years in New England—and I want to bring those things to a new team. Right now, though, I have things to prove to myself.”

Brady has been inspiring young players ever since he has come into the league and the Chargers rookie linebacker Romeo Finley is no different. Finley’s favorite team growing up and Brady was his favorite quarterback. When the Chargers and the Buccaneers square off this season, Finley would like to pick off his idol.

“So, my favorite team growing up was the England Patriots and with that my favorite quarterback was Tom Brady. Tom Brady just got signed to the Bucs this year and we actually go to Tampa [Bay]. So, that would be a dream come true just to sack him or get an interception, Finley said on the ‘What’s Your Opinion‘ Podcast.

“I’m not going to lie, if we’re to accomplish that I am going to ask him after the game for a picture or something. Not even on no fanboy stuff. [He is] a first ballot Hall of Famer [and] my whole life you have been on one team who have been rooting for and have been rooting for you… Now that I am finally here, and hopefully get a chance to play aga犀利士 inst him that would be a big bucket list thing.”

If Finley were to pick off his idol on October 4th in Tampa, he won’t be able to swap jerseys with Brady because the NFL have banned jersey swaps due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That would also rule out the opportunity to grab a photo too.

Finley also shared that he would like to spend all of his career in a Chargers uniform.

“That would definitely be nice and for me, I am an undrafted free agent. So, this team gave me the opportunity and they believed in me. For me to give that to them even though they are in Cali and I’m from Florida that would really be important.”
