Former two-time MVP Steph Curry has been on a major scoring streak ever since Kevin Durant went down with a right calf strain in game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets with 2:05 left in the third quarter of that game. Since then Steph Curry has recorded six 30 point games including the 34 he poured in during game one of the NBA Finals, which ended in a 118-109 victory for the Toronto Raptors.
Curry full state line looked like this after the conclusion of Game One, 34 points, five rebounds, and five assists, but it was enough as the Raptor, who were led by Most Improve candidate Pascal Siakam as he poured in 32 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. The 32 points by Siakam, putting him in a tie for the fifth-most by a player in his first NBA Finals game over the last decade with others, such as Allen Iverson, Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan, Shawn Kemp to name a few.
During the game, one broadcast Former Knicks Coach and ESPN NBA Analyst Jeff Vangundy praised Curry on his ability to finish at the basket.
“Curry is an underrated finisher with either hand, different angles,” said Van Gundy.
Curry is one of three players to record 6 consecutive 30 point games in the players and the other two are Rick Berry and Wilt Chamberlain.
